Specialization course on Music in the Middle Ages

Training Course on Music in the Middle Ages: Classification problems and bibliographic methods. This course aims to strengthen knowledge of medieval music, especially the bibliographic and discographic database produced by the Music Section 'Clemente Terni e Matilde Fiorini Aragone', and share it with a large number of scholars. The database itself is updated annually and published in the periodical Medioevo musicale. Bollettino bibliografico della musica medievale (Music in the Middle Ages. Mediaeval Music Bibliographical Bulletin), in hard copy, as well as online through the MIRABILE portal.

The course is structured around three guiding lines: bibliographic techniques, use of computer resources, and the continuing in-depth examination of themes corresponding to the different branches of study in the field of medieval music. The most recent sessions of the course took place concomitantly with an international congress on medieval musicology.

Ninth edition - Florence, at the FEF location, 13-16 December 2016
